Reading is a pretty decent place to set up shop mate. We lived in neighbouring Newbury for 12/13 years. Jump on the M4 for an hour east and you are in London. Head west and you have the Cotswolds, Somerset and Devon. Best of both worlds!
This was our thought process too - Archit actually has some family in Reading, and mine is only an hour's train west. Also a little more in the mix of things there than we might be staying in Sheffield. 45 minutes to Heathrow is also nice, thinking even further in the future!
