Tools & Links

This page is a work in progress, but I thought I’d put it out here as it stands right now so that you can get involved sooner rather than later

Part of the reason I’m making it is to cement the tools in my workflow that I actually want to use. I’m a chronic shiny object chaser and keeping a public log of the tools I use would make me less likely to mindlessly switch over to something I don’t need, seeing as I’d have to update it here. So here we go…

The tools and services that I use are so closely related to my well-being and quality of output online and in what I do in the physical world too.

That means I want to pick nothing but the best for the job. You can find out what I use by browsing these links here yourself…

PARAZETTEL for Obsidian - I had to put my own product first - this is what I’ve been using for over two years as my own knowledge management system in Obsidian, packaged up with videos and written text into a resource that you can download for yourself.

It works through a powerful combination of the two most powerful and popular methods of organising personal knowledge. Tiago Forte’s PARA Method and Niklas Luhmann’s Zettelkasten.

If you want to learn more about the system, you can sign up for a free 5-day email course that introduces you to the system and its features, as well as giving you the story as to how PARAZETTEL came about…

Readwise - This service is one of my longest-standing subscriptions. I started using Readwise when Ali Abdaal recommended it in one of his videos a couple of years ago. I’ve been using it ever since to collate my highlights in some form or another, exporting them to Obsidian to peruse there.

More recently, I’ve been using Readwise Reader as my read-it-later app, storing articles that I want to get to, as well as using the custom email address to sign up for newsletters so that they don’t clutter up my primary inbox. Truly a fantastic tool if you’re into personal knowledge management.

I might have pointed you towards Omnivore as a free option in the past, but it recently closed down. This shows how valuable it is to pay for a service like Readwise; it’s a vote for the types of companies that you want to see in business in the future.

Luckily for you, if you use my link below, you can get 60 days of free Readwise and Readwise Reader which is 2x what the platform normally offers users. This is how I got into using Readwise myself, thinking that I’ll give it a go for free. Then I got hooked on how good the service was. So here’s the link…

lf - This is where I get all my health-related essentials. Right now I like to buy in bulk to make sure I don’t distract myself with all the health goodies on their website on a monthly basis.

Either way, you can see the products I recommend by going to the link above - once you’ve clicked, you get 10% off of the products I recommend, as well as anything else that catches your eye on their website.

P.S. Some of the links on this page are affiliate links. This changes nothing about the fact that all the tools and services on this page are first-rate and that I started using them myself without any kind of financial incentive. After so long mentioning them, I reached out to partner up. It seemed like a natural progression, and I vouch for everything on this list. Email me if you have any questions about them @ theo@fundamentalised.com — Thanks!
